i actually made an account and everything just to say that omg, i love this vn so much, i can't wait to see how it'll end and i actually fell in love with lake, great work so far, it really made a number on my feelings in a good way
We were thinking of it, maybe a Polish version will happen someday, but with >400k words of dialogues and narration in the game at the moment (and still a lot more to come), the work needed to translate the VN into any language would be immense.
That would be amazing. I think you should do it as soon as possible, because it will be easier to translate the dialogues right away than to translate more of them later.
What IS the moon flicker? does down chorus have hidden lore?? is it somehow related to the [alleged] saucy arne sprites??? so many questions-
does anyone here have any ideas on what the "moon flicker" might even be?? i swear to god i have seen at least a passing mention of the moon flicker at least once in each route [maybe not klaus] and i am genuinely going insane trying to guess what it might be OR if it even has any significance to begin with
and if it ends up being that it doesn't, then WHY is it so widespread? is it just a literary motif? like the "ships at sea" thing? is it just coincidence? i could somewhat easily find some dialogue sources to count how many times its been mentioned but im literally going to pass out from exaustion at any moment so not today definetly not now

i played and enjoyed the game a lot, the passages meandered like poems on the ocean waves, it immersed me in emotions, it hurt so much, so much, why is the pain inside the game so real, i only felt this pain once when i played Sileo and here that pain also exists, i was also quite surprised because in your game there is someone with empathy like me, the difference is probably that my symptoms are more severe because it is hyper-empathy
I've been listening a lot to an artist by the name of i don't like mirrors. It reminds me of the music in Dawn Chorus. I suggest him for anyone looking for good music reminiscent of the game.
I am in love with Lake so much!!! i need more of his path so badly! the way this VN gets you so invested in each character is amazing!! im so excited to see where everything goes ^w^

Damn... this game is amazing. It's so good that I completed every route and unlocked every image in a single week. Currently my favorite VN. Also I wish there was a Professor Arne route honestly, I mean, I went snooping around in the game files and found Arne's sprites which are... pretty interesting, honestly I did not expect to see what I saw there, kind of wish there was a route for him now. (Note for the team: I hope you guys won't be mad at me that I snooped around in your game files, my curiosity won over me)
Hello, just got an Itch.io account to ask this question, I've done what I can of Rune's route and got the pop-up from HQ about the Rune update, v0.14, but when I searched and found it, the links aren't clickable, this might be me being silly, I'm not used to manually downloading things at all, so sorry if that's the case haha.
But if not, what do I do? I'm really enjoying the story and wanna continue!

heyy! idk if i understood u completely, but it seems that u have an issue with updating the game (i think).
if ur on pc, u have to download the most recent version (the one that appears when u click on "download now"), then extract it and, finally, u can delete the old version (the one u've been reading til now). ur safe files should technically be intact, but as that version is really old, it's possible that they're deleted. it wouldn't take long to get to the point where u stopped reading by using the skip text function tho.
on mobile, u just have to download the newest version and it should automatically give u the option to update the game. same possible issues than in pc.

There is a lot to be said about this game. I have very mixed emotions about it. It was very emotional with some extremely powerful scenes showing heartbreak, exestential dread, despair, warmth, love and much more. The characters were so well written and deeply relatable not to mention unique in all in there own ways (My personal fav had to have been Lake) I also loved how diverse the characters I was learning stuff I didn't even know existed such as Expranto, Tinnitus, the cultural differences between Finns and Americans. Truly an amazing experience that perfectly reflects the troubles of growing up and becoming adults! But at the very same time my main problems with it are: I feel like it lacked a form of conflict which I feel I essential to any plot. (Though I did enjoy the very comfortable atmosphere the game produced it was just so relaxing!) my second issue was the excessive diologue regarding food expecially in the tea shop just felt like 10 minutes of mind numbing filler.
Keo said that he was having a really hard time writing the next portion of Klaus's story and that he wouldn't feel right releasing when he didn't feel it was ready. You can scroll back in a few of the posts and find it. It's pretty far back though, if I recall

Holy shit, this is might be one of my favorite visual novels ever, the descriptions of the EVERYTHING are SO GOOD and exactly how I have ALWAYS felt about them but just have never been able to put it into words. I'm pretty sure Arvo stepped on a frozen lake/pond by accident while trying to search for Mikko, and the ice broke under him. He tried to get out but he couldn't, this led to his "death", not sure if he actually dies or not, the devs could somehow expand it further honestly.
I suppose i'm late. I feel electric now maybe still not fully here, but i must say this at least once, thank you for ever embarking in this project, creating a game must be hard, i can only imagine. I had to stop mid-reading of Devon's route, day 4, the scene in the café, the photos, his stream of thoughts about the travel, i didn't even realise it at first, but his struggle against loneliness, himself, and his environment hit all too close to home. I couldn't help but cry like i haven't done in so long, it was so good, i felt seen in a way, correspondend. This story, Dawn Chorus as a whole, has played a really special role in my life, it was to some extente my gateway to the furry community, and my first vn, i fell in love with the cozy atmosphere, and the characters and their stories. I must say i feel somewhat ashamed i never could give anything in return to this piece of media that has brought so me so much self-realization, its weird but i feel somewhat indebted. Before my meaning is lost in this word salad, i meant to express my most heartfelt thank you. I watched Dawn Chorus grow from the one or two routes that extended into day 2, to now, nearing the finish line in a way, and i like to think it is becoming someting beautiful. Have a great one.
Hiya ! This is my first time playing and I thought I would go for Rune or the Coach at first but then I met Torulf with his free spirit and no-nonsense attitude but I regret so much his route. I felt bad all night after finishing reading. If I knew we hadn't got the choice to break it off with him when we understood that he was also having sex with Lake, I would have stopped right here, right now with him. I hate the ending of Day 4 so much. I felt used, disrespected, and dirty in a way. I am usually quite bold and wild when it comes to sexual encounters in VN but I can't accept being forced into doing something I don't want to do and I felt like that. I also despised the fact that I had no choice but to top when I much prefer the bottom position. I wish I had given Mikko more credit on this one. He warned me, but I wanted to think Torulf was well-meaning, when he was actually such a manipulative older guy who used his age and experiences for his gain. I will stop playing the other routes, for now, I need to forget his one first. It left a bad aftertaste in my mouth. Otherwise, the game in itself is well-made and rich but really, I can't find enjoyable that kind of "love" story. It's just plainly bad for me, as the MC, and for Lake. I hate him so much for his comment at the bar and the way he doesn't even try to hide his flirtation right before my face! No! I can't!
Just finished some reread and consuming new content since months of absent and... unfortunately, the magic is gone. I really, really do not like the new sprites. Feels like they were made more for fetish/sexual appeal rather than story and passion... Lake, Jørgen, Bjørn, they are alright... not as good as they used to be, but alright... everyone else.... just dreadful. Especially Mikko and Torulf... Mikko just looks horrid in general. I don't ever want to replay his route anymore. And Torulf.... just a whole different character now... sorry but I'm really just disappointed, because I used to love this game to death...

1. Get a coat on day 1(either talk to Rune before losing the key, or ask Devon for help when you lost it)
2. Do the Klaus event when given chance on the first day. Make sure you talk to him and follow him all the way into the woods.
3. After that follow...
3.a) the Bjorn route, in which case just wait till you get a chance to chase after Klaus into the woods again.
3.b) the Devon route, in which case don't help him with telescopes and talk to Klaus in the cafeteria

Oh my gosh, that's absolutely ancient. Update ASAP, there's a ton of new content and some things have been entirely changed.

My guess, they go in some kind of order, updating the characters as they go. I heard that Rune is supposed to get an Update somewhere later this year.

This story, Dawn Chorus as a whole, has played a really special role in my life, it was to some extente my gateway to the furry community, and my first vn, i fell in love with the cozy atmosphere, and the characters and their stories. I must say i feel somewhat ashamed i never could give anything in return to this piece of media that has brought so me so much self-realization, its weird but i feel somewhat indebted.
Before my meaning is lost in this word salad, i meant to express my most heartfelt thank you. I watched Dawn Chorus grow from the one or two routes that extended into day 2, to now, nearing the finish line in a way, and i like to think it is becoming someting beautiful. Have a great one.

Hiya ! This is my first time playing and I thought I would go for Rune or the Coach at first but then I met Torulf with his free spirit and no-nonsense attitude but I regret so much his route. I felt bad all night after finishing reading. If I knew we hadn't got the choice to break it off with him when we understood that he was also having sex with Lake, I would have stopped right here, right now with him. I hate the ending of Day 4 so much. I felt used, disrespected, and dirty in a way. I am usually quite bold and wild when it comes to sexual encounters in VN but I can't accept being forced into doing something I don't want to do and I felt like that. I also despised the fact that I had no choice but to top when I much prefer the bottom position. I wish I had given Mikko more credit on this one. He warned me, but I wanted to think Torulf was well-meaning, when he was actually such a manipulative older guy who used his age and experiences for his gain. I will stop playing the other routes, for now, I need to forget his one first. It left a bad aftertaste in my mouth. Otherwise, the game in itself is well-made and rich but really, I can't find enjoyable that kind of "love" story. It's just plainly bad for me, as the MC, and for Lake. I hate him so much for his comment at the bar and the way he doesn't even try to hide his flirtation right before my face! No! I can't!
Just finished some reread and consuming new content since months of absent and... unfortunately, the magic is gone. I really, really do not like the new sprites. Feels like they were made more for fetish/sexual appeal rather than story and passion... Lake, Jørgen, Bjørn, they are alright... not as good as they used to be, but alright... everyone else.... just dreadful. Especially Mikko and Torulf... Mikko just looks horrid in general. I don't ever want to replay his route anymore. And Torulf.... just a whole different character now... sorry but I'm really just disappointed, because I used to love this game to death...
