I have been following the dawn chorus vn for a long time now I want to say so it is quite sad that i have to say im probably going to stop supporting it as much as i did. while i will still follow the games progress and will most likely check out every lake update i just cant connect to the new art style. while for some characters it does good such as torulf, klaus and travis it seems very not fitting on others. such as now mikko the character that him being a little smaller the everyone was a key point now is almost double his hight from what im seeing and has thicker build which just did not come off well on him, or devon who now seems to have a baby face when his supose to almost be 30 from what i remember, he dosent need to have an old man face but not a teenager face, rune who is a swimmer and athelete has a bodybuilders body (in my opinion mikkos new body shape would fit perfect for him) but the thing that really did hit me most was lake. i was so in love with how their character was and it touched me deeply the way their story went regarding their identity or the relationship with torulf and i think their for the lack of a better word "twink-ish" look fit because it made them look how they felt which is small compared to others but now they just feels alot bulkier then they should be.(again in my opinion klauses new look could look better) to conclude this is not an attack on keo or anyone who likes the changes, if you like the changes then all power to you i just cant connect. maybe im not the audience for this vn anymore because while i dont like saying it. it does feel like its going to the pretty upsetting fetish look with making basically everyone but maybe 2 characters either muscly or bulky. In my opinion a thing that could make everyone happy would be a toggle mechanic, i dont know coding personally so im not sure how this will work or if its possible even,again saying this is not an attack to anyone just me voicing my opinion on a visual novel i used to feel really connected to. sorry for any misspellings english is not my first language. thank you to whoever listend to my small rant.
I feel sad to agree. I personally really like hq's work but these new sprites feel really weird. maybe I've grown too attached to the old ones but idk. A few of the new CGs also don't feels quite right, the one that hq just posted on twitter, of Arvo looking in the mirror, specially. Something that had a lot of charm and really stood out from other VNs are the forward facing characters which I miss a lot on these new characters. I also agree that most of the cast is looking unusually bulky, despite how they are described in-game. Something I do like is Lake's new flannel. I'm still unsure of what to do, I know I'll miss all of these a lot.
This is by far one of the best games in all of my life. I honestly have never played such a well thought out and lovely game. I love the message of the routes and I ABOUSOLOUTLY love the characters. Great job to all who made this, YOUR THE BEST.
Beautiful update. I didn't expect runes... Realignment to come in that form, but I think it worked for him. Excited to see the rest of his story unfold. ☺️
I found the issue. Version 35.0 has a little weird look on the main menu, but has the new gallery image for 35.4's update and no Rune continuation. While on the other hand, its flip-flopped for Version 35.4 has the Rune continuation, but the menu is fine, and the new gallery image is not there
Hey... I don't know if this is just me, but it seems like I'm still missing the train tracks flash back memory from mikkos route. Is there any fix coming for that or am I just doing something wrong?
Just finished the update, maybe I need a restart too... well who knows, I loved it, was nice reading it and may need to reread it to process it correctly, wonder what's next tho! time to wait for another chapter of pain in day 4!
Needed to post a comment runes new update was so beautiful! The writing is so good, the emotion and the way we can feel what there feeling. It was so powerful this is probs one of the best written visual novels I've read cant wait for more updates. ngl tho, I only read Rune's and Devon's oops- no one else really interests me, but after reading that i might have to! Was so good would really recommend this visual novel!
I am not getting the Rune continuation into the rest of Day 3. Maybe its something on my end, kinda doubt it, but its giving me the end credits as the stopping point instead of continuing on.
Also, fuck whatever the guy below said, he has opinions sure, but that was uncalled for. Make the game how you see fit and we'll be happy as long as you don't abandon the VN.

Mate, take a deep breath - things are going to be ok. It's totally fine to not like a change in art style, and you are perfectly entitled to express that opinion and to no longer want to play the game.
But calling an update to the visual style of a game a "backstabbing" and celebrating "being a pain in [the developer's] ass" is taking things too far. Contrary to what you claim in your post, you are the one who needs to address the issue like an adult.
You are not the only person in existence to disagree with a change in direction for the development of a game. That happens all the time, and it's never as personal as you are taking it. Ultimately, the game belongs to the developer, and they are going to execute their vision for the game to the best of their abilities - you aren't entitled to keep things a certain way just because you previously supported the project.
Of course it's unfortunate when this happens - it's never fun to see changes to a project that you don't agree with - but this level of outrage is unwarranted and off-putting. You've obviously made your opinion known, so now just stop interacting with this project entirely. Stop harassing the developer and stop leaving rants on the comment pages. Try to forget about the project entirely - I promise you'll be less stressed if you do.
To Keo, I'm honestly pretty ambivalent about the sprite updates, but I do hope that you don't let people like the one I'm responding to get to you.
It is a bit disheartening to read, even if I get the disappointment. Still - sourcing information from pirate websites and then inferring things and then coming here to demand answers feels disrespectful to us as developers and we don't feel inclined to answer.
We're a team and Haku is working on the reworks and setting the direction for it. I support them in this because we're all working hard to make this VN the best we can. The response to the reworks in total has been positive and we continue to work on them - some of the details I've shared in the latest devlog, and I'll get back with more news once we have any we're ready to share with the public.

Hey big question when you pick a story line and play does the game just stop when im done playing whats available for them or does it just keep going without said character if it helps im asking specifically for the ending with rune cause last i checked day 3 is not done right?
The game splits off into different routes at the end of day one depending on who you stay with, and yeah, each route does stop once you finish the most recent update of it.
Holy shit this game is a masterpiece. I have came across this game in boredom and thought to my self, "it looks pretty good, lets see how it is." Best decision of my entire life. First, the main menu music and background looks and sounds AMAZING. At that moment, I felt as if I was already in love with the game. I click start and the intro is... strange... but it still looks cool. I get my key and play the game for a bit. Good story I have to admit. I get to the part where I choose who I want to sleep with and I pick Mikko. Worst and best decision of my life. I say bad because the end of day 3 broke me... I had tears running down my cheeks. I thought that games would always have a good part of the game but when they don't... it hurts. I also say good because well... it made me think more about my life and others around me (I have no idea why). This game really changed me good and bad but I digress. This game is great so if your seeing this and have never played it, please do. (BTW: I really want to see a Mikko update soon, Thank you!)
Honestly I just played this game hoping for some NSFW scenes and then leave. But I just finished what's available for Jorgun's route and I'm not even disappointed at the lack of nudity, I've been utterly enthralled by these characters and their lives.
I would just like to tell the team they've done an amazing job making this game and I'm excided for more.
I feel like I shouldn't have played this game, I just thought it would be a gay furry hentai game but I was wrong and I made a big mistake, this was my first vn I had never played anything like it, I only played for lust and pleasure but during the game I met several personalities (rune, lake, devon and etc) when I finished lake and rune's route I felt an intense feeling that I had never felt until now I can't explain what that feeling is. I've never really been furry or gay and I'm from a third world country and I don't think I'll ever experience what the characters experienced, but what I felt playing lake's route was a lovely feeling and when it was over I felt empty, sad and I thought that I myself would never find someone like lake or anyone like any of the characters in this novel. I just wanted to forget about thinking if it would make me feel better and sorry for the mistakes in writing I don't know English fluently.
English is not my first languague either, if you wanna try another VN in the meantime, perhaps try Repeat or Tennis ace, those are great stories! (And long too)
I tried too but haven't found any. I think it's for Rune update just that they released it in this update, so when new update comes in February for Rune that's when we will be able to get that photo.

I'm not finished reading yet, but I will tell you that this is one of the best, BEST, stories/ VN's I've ever read.

It might be due to the version route you're on, I did another run of his route from scratch with different decisions and got it.

I feel like I shouldn't have played this game, I just thought it would be a gay furry hentai game but I was wrong and I made a big mistake, this was my first vn I had never played anything like it, I only played for lust and pleasure but during the game I met several personalities (rune, lake, devon and etc) when I finished lake and rune's route I felt an intense feeling that I had never felt until now I can't explain what that feeling is. I've never really been furry or gay and I'm from a third world country and I don't think I'll ever experience what the characters experienced, but what I felt playing lake's route was a lovely feeling and when it was over I felt empty, sad and I thought that I myself would never find someone like lake or anyone like any of the characters in this novel. I just wanted to forget about thinking if it would make me feel better and sorry for the mistakes in writing I don't know English fluently.

I tried too but haven't found any. I think it's for Rune update just that they released it in this update, so when new update comes in February for Rune that's when we will be able to get that photo.
